Pete Davidson is having some fun with this one!
The comedian showed up on a Weekend Update segment of Saturday Night Live‘s new episode last night to talk about R. Kelly and Michael Jackson … and after blasting both of those embattled and highly controversial artists, the topic of conversation turned to Davidson’s own personal life. And so, speaking out about Kate Beckinsale (though he never mentioned her by name), the comedian addressed things head-on to the camera!
With the help of Weekend Update co-host Colin Jost, the funnyman went after those who criticize Pete and Kate over the age difference present in their relationship — and he did it in a very original way, turning things on their head while making a good point! Hopefully, this will quell some of the criticism of the pair, especially since the two of them personally sure seem to be in a healthy, happy place together… and who are any of us to negatively judge and criticize THAT?!
Plus, after Pete’s brutal breakup and tough aftermath with Ariana Grande, it’s a sight to see him all smiles and clearly in a much better place alongside Kate, and with his own mental health as well. No shame in the game there — just happy that the funny man found the right person to be with at this point in his life, age difference or not!
Anyways, ch-ch-check out Pete’s appearance on SNL to talk about Kate and their relationship in the video clip (above)!! And that wasn’t all that the show had to give last night, either!
Ch-ch-check out all the rest of the highlights from the new and solid show last night (below), in an episode hosted by Idris Elba, with Khalid as the musical guest — led by a brutal R. Kelly opener that really captures some of what’s going on in pop culture and the court of public opinion around the embattled R&B singer right now:
Whoa!! Kenan Thompson really cuts to the heart of it, doesn’t he?! And he remains consistently one of the true highlights on the show, week in and week out!!!
The rest of the sketches, and Khalid’s two musical performances, can all be seen (below):
Now let’s change pace a bit and give ’em a little Khalid to wrap things up (below):
Loving him as a choice for musical guest this week!!!
Ha! Very funny with strong performances and some laugh out loud lines, as always! What’d U think, Perezcious readers?! All in all, not a bad night on SNL!!!
