Brace yourselves, Spice Girls fans!
We know, you’re all still in shock and in pure bliss from the news that the girl group from yesteryear is going back on tour with six special performances in the UK in 2019.
But before you cop that concert ticket, there’s one important thing you all have to know: we’ve totally been pronouncing a line from Spice Up Your Life completely wrong!
Geri Halliwell AKA Ginger Spice subtly corrected fans everywhere in the caption of her Instagram post celebrating the reunion tour news:
If you’re like the rest of the world who pronounced the line, “Hi C Ya” or “I See Ya” — don’t feel bad.
The line is actually “hai-Si-ja, hold tight!” which fans in the comments pointed out translates to “Yes yes yes” in Japanese, Spanish, and German. We’re not sure why the singers chose this line, but it definitely feels like a nod to the international reach of the once massively successful all-girl group.
So that’s the story, from A to Z! Who knew, right? Thanks for blowing our minds, Geri!
What did U think the line was? And are U excited for the Spice Girls reunion? Tell us (below)!
